Axis gallery

Jay and I enjoyed our friend, Richard's, show at the Axis gallery downtown San Jose, a small but elegant space, where drawings and mixed media pieces from his early works were well presented. And they really deserved to be seen! There was one of these blue angels jumping off a train...well you had to see it!
So the gallery is basically a ground floor condo transformed into a gallery, which catches the eye of foot traffic and is just a great location. After the show we went over to the De Anza Hotel for dinner. Without having to get in the car.
OK, I feel another post coming on....but I should make it a separate post. About the demise of galleries.

CITS 2009

Well, "Christmas in the Studio" is over for 2009. It was the 30th year of the show and let's hope we can keep it going. It's a cat rescue benefit and a chance to buy fine crafts from excellent artists. The economy has been hard on these shows, needless to say ....still, I sold many small works and so did the other artists....plus it was great fun!

cards and the muse

I am exploring new ways of using my SoulCollage Cards. Like when I am pleased with a finished artwork, I place my Muse card on the altar.
Speaking of the muse, Bea's ceramic sculptures always amaze me! And she does a very nice interactive blog on the creative muse! I like the mix of stuff she presents.

found artists

I love finding artists online whose work is exciting and inspiring.
Here is one, among many. Check it out if you like abstract painting.
